Carolyn Blubaugh-Hagle

Image of Carolyn HaglerCarolyn Hagler moved from California to Austin to begin studies on a Master of Music degree at the University of Texas. After completing her degree, she won a position with the New World Symphony in Miami Florida, where she worked with Michael Tilson-Thomas and Leonard Bernstein. As a performer, Carolyn is the founder and director of the Barton Strings, a tenured member of the Austin Symphony Orchestra and tours internationally with the acclaimed world ensemble, Mundi. As a teacher, Carolyn has taught strings to individuals from 4 years old to 64 years old! She was a cello professor at Texas Lutheran University, Austin Community College and the Armstrong Community School. Carolyn has taught in both the Eanes School District as well as the Austin School District, most recently at Mendez Middle School. Carolyn is a member of the Texas Orchestra Directors Association, Texas Music Educators Association, American String Teachers Association and the American Federation of Musicians.
