Andrew Leonard
In the fifth grade Andrew Leonard told his parents, “All I need in college is a decent place to be noisy and play clarinet.” A graduate of Juilliard’s Pre-College Division and USC’s Thornton School of Music, he’s won the Torrance, Redlands, and Peninsula Music Festival concerto competitions in California, was a semi-finalist in the Midland-Odessa competition in Texas, and was awarded a grant from the Santa Barbara Foundation. Andrew can be heard on soundtracks for Lionsgate, Sony, Starz, Showtime, StudioCanal, UbiSoft, and National Geographic. He’s also performed with the International Bachakademie, New York String Seminar, the symphonies of San Bernardino, Burbank, Santa Monica, and the Long Beach Opera.
Andrew expresses his passion for music through his teaching practice. He has written programs and curriculum for the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Harmony Project, Education Through Music, USC Thornton School of Music, The Orchestras of Pasadena, the Music Center of Los Angeles County, and The DaCamera Society.
