AUSTIN SYMPHONY REPLACES CANCELLED POPS WITH GARY PUCKETT OF THE UNION GAP
Season Sponsor: JPMorganChase Concert Sponsor: Altria Group, Inc. Media Sponsors: Time Warner Cable/News 8 Austin, Austin American-Statesman and KVET 98.1 FM
The Austin Symphony Orchestra has successfully rescheduled its September Sarah & Ernest Butler Pops concert for Saturday, November 12th at Riverbend Centre and will feature Gary Puckett of Union Gap fame. The previous concert, originally scheduled for September 24th featuring The Righteous Brothers with Bill Medley, was cancelled by Medley's management due to the threat of Hurricane Rita on Austin.
Known for such hits as 'Woman, Woman' and 'Young Girl,' Gary Puckett and the Union Gap was one of the most successful musical groups of the 60's and 70's. Gary's unmistakable signature voice garnered six consecutive gold records and top ten Billboard hits, including 'This Girl is a Woman Now,' 'Over You,' and 'Don't Give In To Him.' Puckett now crisscrosses the country playing theaters and casinos from California to Florida. His appearance with the Austin Symphony will be a rare concert involving a symphony orchestra. Join Maestro Peter Bay and the Austin Symphony for an evening you will not want to miss.
The Austin Symphony presents Gary Puckett, Saturday, November 12th, 8:00 pm at Riverbend Centre. Tickets are $25 & $40. Tickets previously purchased for The Righteous Brothers will be honored for this concert. Please call the Box Office for more information. Charge tickets online at www.austinsymphony.org where you will find interactive seating maps, price options and a wealth of concert information. Tickets are also available at the Austin Symphony Box Office, 11th and Red River or call 476-6064 or 1-888-4-MAESTRO (toll-free).
